Less is our Building Stone

Hybridized

We Build More With Less

Our patented production process enables Hybridized to handle ultrathin and flexible materials in production of insulated glass. We replace heavy intermediate glass layers with ultra thin and super light optical films. -  reducing material use, weight, and CO₂ footprint while improving energy and thermal performance.

From our first product line, HyLight, to our system-wide circular vision of HyOrbit, Hybridized is creating a new industry standard that benefits every player in the value chain of glass windows facade and buildings.

HyLight glass is the first step toward a circular future — the entry point to our long-term circular vision: HyOrbit.

Lightweight. Energy-efficient. Circular-ready.

Hybridized introduces HyLight, a breakthrough in insulated glass technology. Our patented production process enables replacing of heavy glass layers with ultra-thin, ultralight layers — reducing weight, material use, and CO₂ emissions while improving thermal and energy performance with no added weight. This technology is scalable through implementation on existing production lines.

30-70% less

CO₂ footprint in new production. Hybridized technology cuts material usage and environmental impact by 30-70%, helping address global resource shortages.

50-70% more

Energy Efficiency with no added weight or CO₂ footprint, Hybridized technology improves energy performance (U-value) by 50-70%

Improvement of U-values

Significant improvement of U-values without adding extra weight or materials.

Seamless Integration

Compatible with multiple functional films without lamination added glass or extra weight.

Reduced weight & CO₂ footprint

We never use more than 2 glasses, from double-glazing - all upgrades with optical film.

Better lambda values

Replacing internal glass with ultra-thin layers makes way for more space within the insulated glass units for more inherent gas.

HYBRIDIZED FEATURES:

  • Up to 85% energy savings in renovation of windows and glass facades.

  • Up to 50% energy saving in windows and glass facade for new buildings with 50% reduction in weight and use of glass

  • Up to 70% less material use and CO₂ footprint.

  • Compatible with reuse and recycling, addressing resource scarcity of silica sand.

  • Modular production upgrades integrate seamlessly with existing insulated glass production lines.

  • A multi-functional platform that can carry new technologies such as smart foils, solar films, and dynamic shading

How hybridized address the importance of glass

Glass is a remarkable building material that combines light, structural strength, transparency and esthetics. It enhances insulation and maximizes natural daylight - creating inviting and livable internal spaces through internal comfort.

Today architecture without glass is unthinkable. Still the resources of building-glass is handled in a way where key input factors into high quality glass is becoming a scarce resource.

Hybridized is addressing this issue in three steps:

  1. HyLight - reducing the internal use of insulation glass build up enabling the use of ultra thin materials, replacing glass

  2. Direct implementation of new technologies bypassing todays glass lamination leading to added weight and use of glass.

  3. Our circular vision (HyOrbit) where glass panes in outdated insulation glass through recycle can be set into orbit through reuse - This recycling can be done an infinite number of times. Enabled by HyLight strengthened by direct implication of new technologies, resulting in zero-use of new produced glass.

About Hybridized

Technology at the Core- Change Across the Industry

In Hybridized production technology, lays the future of insulated glass and building material through enabling handling of ultra-thin materials.

Hybridized is a Norwegian technology company that connects expertise in glass, façades, materials science, and automation. We’ve developed the world’s first fully automated process for producing Hybrid Insulated Glass Units (HIGUs) — enabling production using ultra-thin, high-performance layers of insulation glass at industrial scale.

Our technology is scalable, retrofittable to existing production lines, and designed to integrate emerging innovations - from dynamic shading to transparent solar cells with use of less resourses and lower costs. Hybridized technology is the future of insulated glass and building materials. From HyLight to HyOrbit, our mission is clear: better glass today, circular systems tomorrow.

Atle Geving

Founder and CEO

Atle is a Norwegian architect and visionary entrepreneur with a passion for transforming the glass industry through sustainable innovation. As the founder and CEO of Hybridized, he is leading the charge to redefine insulated glass, creating products that are lighter, more energy-efficient, and better for the environment.

With more than two decades of experience in the facade and glass sector, Atle has worked extensively with energy-efficient building solutions and new materials. His drive to reduce the environmental impact of construction led to the development of Hybrid Insulated Glass (HIGU), a breakthrough technology that replaces heavy glass layers with ultra-thin materials, significantly improving energy performance while reducing material use and carbon emissions.

Atle’s vision is clear: to set a new global standard for insulated glass and make energy-efficient, sustainable building materials the norm in architecture and construction.
