Hybridized has been awarded NOK 17.1 million in innovation funding from Innovation Norway and an additional NOK 4.5 million from Telemarkutviklingsfond. Together, these allocations amount to a total of NOK 21.6 million – the largest innovation grant awarded in Norway during the first quarter of 2025. This milestone marks a major step forward in our mission to transform the insulating glass industry.
Building the World’s First Automated Production Line for Hybrid Insulating Glass
Hybridized has developed a patented solution that replaces the central glass layer in traditional insulating glass with an ultra-thin foil. This innovation offers:
Reduced weight
Improved insulation performance
Lower climate footprint
Following successful international tests in Austria, Hybridized will now establish a pilot production line in Skien and begin preparations for a full-scale automated factory in Notodden.
Reviving a Norwegian Industry
Founder Atle Geving and the Hybridized team are committed to reviving Norway’s insulating glass industry and positioning the country as a leading exporter in Scandinavia. With strong backing from both innovation authorities and industry associations, Hybridized is well on its way to delivering sustainable, locally produced building materials for the green transition.
“This grant is a strong vote of confidence in our technology and vision. With this support, we can accelerate our mission to make hybrid insulating glass a cornerstone of sustainable construction in Norway and beyond,” says Atle Geving, Founder of Hybridized.
